``My team makes me feel confident, so I wasn't nervous,'' said Marder, who also doubled in the fifth inning. ``I've never had a bigger hit than that last one, but this was a total team win. Without Brett (Fick)'s hit before mine, my hit wouldn't have meant anything. And we still needed to score those other runs, so it wasn't an indivual win.

``We did this as a team, and that's why we were confident, we weren't relying on just one person.''

Newbury Park junior left-hander Andrew Lambo (9-1) held Edison to six hits with sevenstrikeouts and no walks, but trailed almost the entire game. The Chargers (14-13) took a 1-0 lead on three hits in the first inning. Lambo allowed just one hit in the next fiveinnings, at one point retiring 11 in a row, before Brandon Cooke's two-run home run in the seventh inning put Edison up 3-0.

Anthony Montenegro, who finished 2 for 3, started the Panthers' rally in the bottom of the seventh with a single up the middle. He was just the fourth baserunner against Marcin, who took a perfect game into the fourthinning and had five of his six strikeouts in the first four innings INNINGS, estates.
