DISNEY HOPES TO KEEP SHOW ENCHANTING.Byline: SYANTANI CHATTERJEE >LA.COM The mere possibility of a fantasy realm butting up against reality has potential for great, if chaotic, fun. Consider the odd means of boarding a train to Hogwarts in the Harry Potter stories. Similarly, with a plunge in a well that leads to a city sewer, Walt Disney Pictures' "Enchanted" pops its leading lady, a fairy tale princess with a thing for bursting into song, into modern-day New York City. On Wednesday, Disney will open "Enchanted Experience," a 24,000-square-foot fantasy fun-and-games spot moviegoers may enjoy following the film at its flagship El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. It will remain open through Jan. 6. "The attraction is a great piece of escapist entertainment," said Lylle Breier, senior vice president of worldwide special events for Walt Disney Motion Pictures. "We promise that you will smile from beginning to end." Following a screening of "Enchanted," guests will get to meet all of the Disney princesses -- Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, and Giselle, the star of "Enchanted" and the newest member of Disney's royal family. "We think that after people see the movie, they're going to want more. They're going to want to experience it and be in it. So, we want to give them a way to do that," Breier said. "Everybody is looking for the happily-ever-after." Since the movie takes place in New York, a Disney design team is re-creating Times Square and Central Park in the El Capitan facility. In addition, the actual ballroom set from the movie is being installed there and with replica props and costumes from the movie. Photographers will be able to create images transplanting guests into the movie scenes. An art exhibit displaying classic Disney moments from earlier movies also will be on display to give guests a peek into the fairy tale inspiration behind the "Enchanted" film. To further keep the kids entertained, there also will be a rock wall, a bouncer and a video arcade. And aspiring princesses can dress up in Andalasia's Fashion Dress Shop and win a Vera Wang evening gown designed for Disney.
