Burbank-based Disney, the world's second-largest entertainment company, agreed in June to buy 43 percent of Infoseek, the No. 3 Internet search company. The two companies said in September that they will roll out their new Internet service called the Go Network later this year.

Disney registered new Web domain names, or Internet site addresses, such as goinfo.net, goparents.net, go411.net, gocartoons.net, gowaltdisney.net and gopeople.com, according to Company Sleuth, a Web site that tracks new Internet domain names. While companies don't necessarily use all the Web site addresses they register, Disney's Internet registrations signal the direction of the company's online strategy.

``They're trying to keep it as content-agnostic (as possible), to create a portal that's not too Disney-centric,'' said Chris Charron, analyst at Forrester Research Forrester Research is an independent technology and market research company that provides its clients with advice about technology's impact on business and consumers. Disney is trying to get more of its media products on the Internet and Infoseek is hoping to benefit from Disney's marketing muscle. The two companies have said they want to offer more information and a broader selection than other so-called portals, or online gateways to a variety of services and information.

They hope to catch up to and keep pace with Yahoo! Inc., Excite Inc., Lycos Inc., Netscape Communications Corp. and others who all offer similar features such as free e-mail See Internet e-mail service. , news, stock quotes, Web searches and phone directory information.

Disney also registered other Web site names including gobrowse.net, gosupport.net, goinfoseek.net, goradio.net, gobrowse.com, gooffline.com, gohealth.net, gocity.net, goschools.com, tiggermain.com, woodyandbuzz.com, zoog.net. The new Web site addresses appear to be an attempt to integrate the two companies' offerings while making it easier for users to search for information, analysts said.

``They're being very aggressive. They're enabling users to reach them based on a common sense message,'' said analyst Julia Pickar of market researcher Zona Research Inc.
