DISNEY'S RON LOGAN NAMED TO NEW CREATIVE ENTERTAINMENT POSITION

 DISNEY'S RON LOGAN NAMED TO NEW CREATIVE ENTERTAINMENT POSITION
 LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Long-time Disney "music man" Ron Logan has been promoted to the new position of senior vice president-creative show development, Walt Disney Attractions.
 In the role, the 15-year Disney veteran will be involved as executive producer in the creation and production of all live entertainment for the company.
 "The countless live entertainment shows and events produced by Ron and his team are clearly a strategic asset to our company," said Walt Disney Attractions President Judson Green. "His creativity, dedication and enthusiasm ensure the high level of quality and consistency in entertainment that Disney audiences everywhere have come to expect and appreciate."
 Since 1987, Logan has been vice president, creative show development and executive producer, Walt Disney Attractions, with responsibility for Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland and Euro Disney in France -- plus entertainment extravaganzas at such far-flung venues as football's Citrus Bowl, Orange Bowl and Super Bowl games, the Pan American Games and the Indianapolis 500 Festival.
 The position made him a leader in the entertainment field as he evaluated trends in technology and live entertainment to maintain Disney's quality live shows.
 Most recently, Logan directed the nearly simultaneous launching of major projects at three of the Disney attractions:
 -- the Walt Disney World 20th anniversary's six new theme park
 shows -- the most extensive array of new entertainment ever
 introduced by Disney other than with the opening of a new theme
 park;
 -- the grand opening shows for Euro Disney Resort in Paris;
 -- and the entertainment spectacular Fantasmic at California's
 Disneyland Park.
 Logan joined the Disney company as Walt Disney World music director in 1978. His promotion to Disneyland's director of Entertainment moved him to California in 1980, and he returned to Florida as vice president, entertainment, Walt Disney World in 1982.
 He holds both B.A. and M.A. degrees in Music/Music Education from U.C.L.A. and is nationally recognized as a music educator and conductor, specializing in instrumental music. From 1965 to 1978, he was director of Bands and Jazz Studies at Long Beach City College, Long Beach, Calif.
 A professional trumpet player and singer, he has performed for television, film and recordings. He also has been a performer and conductor with various "name" bands, hotel "house" bands and lounge acts throughout the United States.
 He is a founding member of the International Foundation for Jazz and a patron sponsor of the International Association of Jazz Educators.
 Logan is a native of Leavenworth, Kan., where he was born on Feb. 9, 1938.
 He and his wife, Carol, and daughter Michelle live in Orlando, Fla. Their oldest daughter Sheryl is a doctor in residency in Orlando.
