DISNEY'S 'BEAUTY AND THE BEAST' TO BECOME VIDEO GAME; VIDEO LICENSE ACQUIRED BY HUDSON SOFT USA FOR FIRST OSCAR-NOMINATED ANIMATED MOVIE

 SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Hudson Soft USA Inc. today announced an agreement to transform "Beauty and the Beast," the Oscar-nominated, biggest money-making animated movie of all time, into a children's video game.
 Under a licensing deal made with Walt Disney Computer Software, Hudson Soft will create a "Beauty and the Beast" video game for the Nintendo and Super Nintendo Entertainment Systems.
 The popular animated musical, which opened in theaters in late 1991, grossed $150 million and was the first such movie ever to be nominated for a "Best Picture" Oscar award.
 Like many recent Hudson Soft release, the "Beauty and the Beast" game will be non-violent. it will be available for both the NES and SNES systems in the fourth quarter of 1993.
 Hudson Soft USA, based in South San Francisco, is the U.S. subsidiary of $400 million, Japanese software and game publisher Hudson Soft Co. Ltd. The parent company is a 300-employee manufacturer of business and entertainment software headquartered in Sapporo, Japan. Hudson Soft Co. Ltd. was the first developer to be licensed for Nintendo's 8-bit NES system.
