DISH Network Satellite Television Brings Local TV Channels to Santa Barbara, Calif.

EchoStar Communications Corporation EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH) is the parent company of DISH Network and the maintainer of the satellite fleet that provides the signal that DISH Network markets.  (Nasdaq:DISH) announced today that its DISH Network(TM) now offers local TV channels by satellite television to Santa Barbara, Calif.

The following local TV channels are now offered: ABC ABC
 in full American Broadcasting Co.

Major U.S. television network. It began when the expanding national radio network NBC split into the separate Red and Blue networks in 1928.
 Ch. 3 (KEYT), CBS (Cell Broadcast Service) See cell broadcast.  Ch. 12 (KCOY), NBC NBC
 in full National Broadcasting Co.

Major U.S. commercial broadcasting company. It was formed in 1926 by RCA Corp., General Electric Co. (GE), and Westinghouse and was the first U.S. company to operate a broadcast network.
 Ch. 6 (KSBY), FOX Ch. 24 (KKFX) and Univision Ch. 38 (KPMR).

This is the first time local TV channels are available by satellite TV in the Santa Barbara area, providing an alternative to local cable TV service. Local channels will be offered for $5.99 per month for DISH Network customers in Santa Barbara. A Dish 500 antenna is required to receive the local channels via satellite. A second dish, available free of charge, may be required to receive Univision Ch. 38 (KPMR).

DISH Network offers local channels via satellite to Santa Barbara customers in three California counties: San Luis Obispo San Luis Obispo (săn l`ĭs ōbĭs`pō), city (1990 pop. 41,958), seat of San Luis Obispo co., S Calif., near San Luis Obispo Bay; inc. 1856. , Santa Barbara - North and Santa Barbara - South.

With the addition of Santa Barbara, DISH Network offers local channels in a total of 81 cities and their metro areas nationwide.

DISH Network offers consumers the lowest all digital TV package price in America at only $24.99 per month for more than 50 popular TV channels such as ESPN ESPN Entertainment and Sports Programming Network , Discovery, CNN CNN
 or Cable News Network
