DISH Network Satellite Television Brings Local Channels to El Paso-Las Cruces Area.

(TM) will offer local TV channels by satellite television to El Paso El Paso (ĕl pă`sō), city (1990 pop. 515,342), seat of El Paso co., extreme W Tex., on the Rio Grande opposite Juárez, Mex.; inc. 1873. , Texas, Las Cruces, N.M., and the surrounding area. The following local TV channels will be available: FOX Ch. 14 (KFOX), NBC NBC

This is the first time local TV channels are available by satellite in the El Paso area, providing an alternative to local cable TV service. DISH Network now offers local channels as part of its new Digital Home Advantage. Starting at $29.99 per a month, this promotion offers customers free installation for up to four TVs, with no commitment and no hardware to buy and includes more than 60 popular TV channels such as ESPN ESPN Entertainment and Sports Programming Network , Discovery and Nickelodeon, plus local El Paso TV channels.

DISH Network has frozen the lowest all digital TV price through January 2005. Customers can call DISH Network or a local satellite TV retailer to learn how to get a free multi-satellite dish antenna required to receive El Paso-area local channels. "Customers who are fed up with the cable companies' outrageous rate increases now have access to local news, weather and sports via all-digital satellite TV -- only on DISH Network -- at a competitive price."

DISH Network is celebrating this launch at the local El Paso customer service center by inviting the public to join a free pig roast luncheon.

DISH Network offers local channels via satellite to four counties in the El Paso-Las Cruces area, including Dona Ana, Culberson, El Paso and Hudspeth counties. With the addition of El Paso, DISH Network offers local channels in a total of 115 cities and their metro areas, and in 46 states nationwide, plus the District of Columbia District of Columbia, federal district (2000 pop. 572,059, a 5.7% decrease in population since the 1990 census), 69 sq mi (179 sq km), on the east bank of the Potomac River, coextensive with the city of Washington, D.C. (the capital of the United States). .

For customers who do not subscribe to Digital Home Advantage, local channels will be available at $4.99 per a month with a $1 credit until a local ABC ABC
