) today introduced two new models to expand its family of optical jukeboxes See optical disc library. . The new models, D50 and D60, are capable of storing 130 gigabytes and 156 gigabytes respectively with either 2 or 4 optical disk drives.

These new models feature multi-disk removable magazines, a durable mechanism with a mean swaps between failure rating of 1 million, and a rapid four second disk exchange time. Such performance and reliability are a must in the mission critical, enterprise applications where DISC's high capacity products are employed today.

"With our introduction of the D50 and D60, DISC now provides the broadest range of optical jukeboxes available from any manufacturer," commented Wayne Augsburger, DISC Vice President of Marketing. "Now we are able to service our customers' full range of requirements for optical and CD-R/CD-ROM jukeboxes."

Price and Availability

The D50 and D60 models will be available in October of 1996 through DISC's worldwide sales channels, including OEMs, system integrators, VARs and distributors. Prices vary by model and capacity starting at $23,000.
