DISA Restructures Operations to Enhance Service to the E-Business Standards Community.

In a vigorous move ahead, the Data Interchange Standards Association (standard) Data Interchange Standards Association - (DISA) A not-for-profit corporation that acts as the secretariat for ANSI's EDI standards committee, ASC X12 that works on ANSI X12.  (DISA) refined its infrastructure to improve member services and create innovative products for the growing number of organizations that DISA supports.

Embracing the booming e-business standards community, DISA appointed three new positions to help the association develop and deliver capabilities congruent with the goals of DISA and its affiliated organizations. The positions are:
-- Vice President of Finance and Administration LeAnn M. Wilson

-- Director of Technical Development Alan Kotok

-- Director of Public Relations Julia O'Brien


A visionary leader with over 14 years of financial experience, Ms. Wilson will provide DISA and its partners with budgetary analysis, updates and projections that help DISA navigate today's complex economy. As the former Director of Finance and Administration for DISA, Ms. Wilson served the association as well as its eight distinct member-based organizations.

From customized reporting to thorough audits, Ms. Wilson ensures compliance with all generally accepted accounting principles The standard accounting rules, regulations, and procedures used by companies in maintaining their financial records.

Prior to joining DISA in 1996, Ms. Wilson served as an Accountant within the automotive industry, where she gained valuable for-profit financial experience, and at a prestigious law firm. A native to the Washington DC metropolitan region, Ms. Wilson holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Maryland University of Maryland can refer to:

Mr. Kotok, DISA's Director of Technical Development, is supporting the DISA Registry Initiative (DRIve) that is seeking contributions of software, systems, and technical expertise to create the architecture for and operations of a registry of data objects developed by standards organizations affiliated with DISA.

In addition, he serves as the editor of E-Business Standards Today, an electronic information service from DISA, and is author of ebXML: The New Global Standard for Doing Business on the Internet, a new book coming this month from New Riders Publishing.

Mr. Kotok writes frequently for technology publications and Web sites, and brings over 10 years of experience in the e-business standards-setting community. Mr. Kotok holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Iowa Not to be confused with Iowa State University.
The first faculty offered instruction at the University in March 1855 to students in the Old Mechanics Building, situated where Seashore Hall is now. In September 1855, the student body numbered 124, of which, 41 were women.

Ms. O'Brien, DISA's Director of Public Relations, is promoting the innovative work of DISA and its affiliated organizations and cultivating relationships with the growing network of e-business standards consortia. She brings over 10 years of experience to the communications arena with expertise in policy formulation and issues management.

Prior to DISA, she worked as a reporter for a daily newspaper and newsletter publisher, and a researcher for Time-Life Books. Ms. O'Brien holds a B.A. in German from the University of Arizona (body, education) University of Arizona - The University was founded in 1885 as a Land Grant institution with a three-fold mission of teaching, research and public service. .
