DIRTY SIR JAILED FOR TEEN SEX; Teacher in trysts with girl, 14.

A TEACHER who had a sexual relationship with a girl of 14 was jailed yesterday.

 with the youngster he met at the Christian group he ran.

T he i l l e g a l t r y s t s happened eight years ago but were only revealed last year when the vict im went to police af ter conf iding in university friends.

Yesterday at the High Court in Edinburgh, Lord Turnbull Lord Turnbull could refer to either of the following:
  • Andrew Turnbull, Baron Turnbull, an English civil servant.
  • Alan Turnbull, Lord Turnbull, a Scottish judge.
 jailed Taylor for 32 months.

He said: "Children given into the trust of others for educat ional, religious or social purposes require to be protected from adult sexual desires.

The maths teacher has been suspended from Mearns Academy in Laurencekirk, Kincardineshire.

He admitted a charge of ac t ing i

a lewd and libidinous li·bid·i·nous
Having or exhibiting lustful desires; lascivious.
 manner towards the underage girl between June 2002 and July 2003.

On June 14, 2002, Taylor, of Stonehaven, picked up the 14-year-old in his car and they later started kissing.

University The cour t heard that Taylor, a teacher for 16 years, also performed a sex act on the teenager.

The relationship went on after she was 16 and only ended when she moved to university in 2005, aged 18.

S t e v en B or t hw i c k , defending, said the offence was an "aberration" as Taylor had previously been of good character.

Lord Turnbull also placed Taylor on the sex offenders' register.
