Case study

Today, successful bank marketing is about customer retention. And, successful customer retention is about knowing customers and providing banking services that their lifestyles demand.

For US Bank, that recently meant expanding online banking services. DMS's challenge was to appeal to top customers while "showcasing" the ease of online communications.

To maximize response from this key group, DSM started with careful data selection, targeting top clients whose demographic and psychographic indicators flagged them as top prospects for online banking.

Next, we combined arresting direct mail creative with an attractive sweepstakes offer, and pushed prospects to a specially designed microsite. This site explained the benefits of online banking and the sweepstakes. The site allowed visitors to enter the sweeps while it collected relevant client data.

The program was a tremendous success, underscoring the power of bank marketing that integrates traditional with new online marketing media--while centering on the respectful management of the customer relationship!
