DINING BEAT : HEY, OSCAR, LET'S PARTY.Byline: Larry Lipson Last-minute Oscar party news: Coco Pazzo, the nifty new restaurant in the Mondrian Hotel on the Sunset Strip, will be the scene of major contender Miramax's private Dom Perignon-flowing bash Monday night. Lots of Italian-style nibbles precede a pasta course, preceding six entrees (grilled vegetables, grilled seafood, steamed mussels and clams, grilled chicken, roasted veal and lamb, grilled sausages) and five desserts. And one of the local parties worth stopping by is the Re$iduals bar's annual fling in Studio City (11042 Ventura Blvd.), an actors' hangout that really lets loose on Oscar night. There are also Oscar events open to the public at Tony Bill's and Dudley Moore's 72 Market Street in Venice (information: 310-392-8720) and at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip, the latter a fund-raiser for the Sorvino Asthma Foundation. Tickets ($150 and up): (310) 280-3328. Greek, Italian, celebs Wilshire Boulevard has a couple of interesting new restaurants. At 8400 Wilshire Blvd., on the former site of Corleone's, is the intriguing Symposium, which sports a full Greek menu and a full Italian one. Symposium's bill of fare lists items from both cuisines together. For example, right under chicken souvlaki ($12.95) is chicken marsala Marsala (märsä`lä), city (1991 pop. 80,177), W Sicily, Italy, a port on the Mediterranean Sea, located on Cape Boeo. It is noted for its sweet wine. The ancient Lilybaeum, it was later renamed Marsah al Allah [port of God] by the Arabs. ($13.50). And chicken avgolemono soup ($4.95) sits next to minestrone ($4.95) on the menu. Starters and salads are priced from $5 to $8.50. Pastas and entrees range from $9 to $18. Information and reservations: (213) 782-9717. Much further west in Santa Monica, at 2020 Wilshire Blvd., the new Macinerney's reportedly is a big hit already. With celebrity investors behind it, the restaurant is said to be the hangout of Oliver Stone, Sean Penn, James Woods and their pals, and favored by such luminaries because of the VIP private parlor area where they can be sheltered from the riffraff. Six courses, five wines Beringer and Chateau Souverain wines will be featured April 2 at the spring wine tasting and dinner at Gaetano's Ristorante, 23536 Calabasas Road, Calabasas.
