The fund-raiser for the Dodgers Dream Foundation precedes the annual Hollywood Stars game and will be hosted by Tom Lasorda. There will also be some Dodger players mingling with attendees.

Tickets to the event, which includes a ticket to Saturday's game and all food, are $125 per person. There's also a penne pasta dish ($10.95) from Campania with braised braise

Eat at Joe's

Chef Joe Miller, who just won the annual Quady Winery's wine and dessert pairing competition, will prepare a special summer prix-fixe dinner Monday evening at his Joe's, 1023 Abbott Kinney Blvd., Venice, with three colleague chefs of note, Tommy Harase of Nouveau Cafe Blanc, Suzanne Tracht of Jozu and Angela Hunter of L'Ermitage.

Miller, who won the dessert contest with a parfait of pistachio pistachio (pĭstăsh`ēō, pĭstä`shēō), tree or shrub (of the genus Pistacia) of the family Anacardiaceae (sumac family). The species that yields the pistachio nut of commerce is P.  with apricot, strawberry, macerated basil and a sauce of Essensia wine and apricot juice, is charging $70 a person for this limited-seating, multi-course meal.

The monthly salute to different regions of Italy by Il Fornaio (nearby locations in Pasadena, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica) goes to Campania Aug. 3-16.

Campania is, of course, the home of Naples and, consequently, pizza. Il Fornaio will, therefore, feature a Neapolitan folded pizza stuffed with escarole escarole (ĕs'kərōl`): see chicory. , pine nuts, kalamata olives, garlic and raisins ($8.50) called focaccia di scarola.

Among the 13 Campanian special items are calamari in umido ($6.50), a refreshing crushed tomato soup with squid and a garlic crouton, and spigola all'acqua pazza ($17.95), an oven-baked whole striped bass striped bass

moronesaxatilis.
 cooked with garlic, tomatoes and trebbiano wine.
