DINING BEAT : ENCINO SPOT GOING GREEK.

Byline: Larry Lipson

Encino will soon have a Greek restaurant when the Greek Bistro opens in mid-November.

Replacing China 28 at 17337 Ventura Blvd., the Greek Bistro will be operated by Peter Divris, formerly the general manager of the Great Greek in Sherman Oaks.

Divris has had ownership involvements in Greek restaurants elsewhere - Athenian Gardens in Hollywood, Alexilion and Mykonos in Phoenix - and has managed hotel restaurants and/or directed food and beverage F&B is a common abbreviation in the United States and Commonwealth countries, including Hong Kong. Divris said his new restaurant ``will be a fun and lively place with live entertainment,'' and will feature a traditional Greek menu plus additions.

He said he intends to have numerous vegetarian dishes, including a vegetarian moussaka mous·sa·ka

New menu on the menu

Another Ventura Boulevard newcomer, Mon Amie Cafe, 18621 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, has decided to change its original idea of separate menus for weekdays and weekends.

The two separate menus - one for Friday and Saturday dinner only, the other for both lunch and dinner the rest of the week excluding Sunday - will henceforth be simplified and combined into more familiar-style daily menus.

Mon Amie's first menus offered a mix of American and European sandwiches, soups, salads and hot entrees with starters and sandwiches from $2.50 to $7, pastas at $5 each, entrees from $6 to $14 and desserts at $3 each.
