DINING BEAT : AWARDS FEAST ALL ARRANGED.Byline: Larry Lipson The menu for the California Restaurant Writers Association's annual awards banquet March 9 at the Wyndham Bel Age Hotel, 1020 N. San Vicente Blvd., West Hollywood, has been set. The 6 p.m. event in the hotel's Grand Salon will begin with wine and appetizers, including baby red potatoes with sour cream and caviar, filo FILO - stack dough purses stuffed with goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes, and beef carpaccio car·pac·cio n. Very thinly sliced raw meat or fish, especially beef or tuna, garnished with a sauce. [Italian, after Vittore Carpaccio, who favored red pigments. and buffalo mozzarella moz·za·rel·la n. A mild white Italian cheese that has a rubbery texture and is often eaten melted, as on pizza. [Italian, diminutive of mozza, a cut, mozzarella, from mozzare, on garlic toast with tomato and basil. The sit-down dinner includes curried butternut butternut: see walnut. butternut Deciduous nut-producing tree (Juglans cinerea) of the walnut family, native to eastern North America. A mature tree has gray, deeply furrowed bark. squash soup, a choice of peppered filet of beef with boursin cheese and a port wine sauce or breast of chicken Kiev, both with vegetable accompaniments. A special peach dessert ends the meal. The public is invited to rub shoulders with some of the top restaurant industry names who hope to be winners of special or regular star awards. Morris plans an all-American family restaurant with a historic Malibu theme featuring his signature large portions, live lobsters, fresh clams, a sushi bar, an oyster bar, and a ``green market'' bar.
