A couple of local French-accented restaurants have revised their menus, obviously looking for Looking for

Cafe St. Michel, 11929 Ventura Blvd., Studio City, has given up its simplified open-face sandwich menu at dinnertime for a more familiar bistro-style bill of fare for evening customers and brought a new look to its dining room and patio.

The Seashell See C shell. , 19723 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills, has given up its separate bistro room and menu for a combined new menu available in the entire restaurant.

It has also affixed af·fix

The new Seashell, trying to shake the image of higher-priced French food, presents a slew of fresh fish plates between $12 and $20 plus Maine and Australian lobster platters at market prices.

And the Seashell's early dinner menu continues on weeknights from 5 to 6 p.m. with meals with soup or salad from $10 through $13.

Fatty's to Arbuckle's

Deciding that Fatty's was not a particularly great name for a restaurant, co-owner Brian Reed has changed Fatty's Row House, at 829 N. La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, to Arbuckle's.

The restaurant is housed in the onetime residence of silent movie star Roscoe ``Fatty'' Arbuckle. It was also Patrone's.

The revised Arbuckle's menu presents numerous lower-priced dishes, with 16 main items priced under $12 and a number of side dishes ticketed at $1.50 each. Even the New York New York, state, United States
