Devotees of the Sagebrush Cantina, 3527 Calabasas Road, Calabasas - and they are legion - will welcome the special 25th anniversary menu. On July 7, all prices will duplicate those of the Cantina's 1974 menu.

This means that for this day only, everything is under $3.

And that includes an enchilada, taco, chile relleno, rice and beans combo plate ($2.90), enchiladas rancheras ($2.80), a godfather sandwich (turkey, avocado, ham and cream cheese, $2.90), hamburger (80 cents), a tossed green salad (60 cents), soups (cup 40 cents, bowl 70 cents), burritos (from 75 cents to $1.50) and many items under $1 each.

The 25th birthday party starts at 11 a.m. No reservations will be taken. There'll be live musical entertainment on hand to liven things up.

A Wave of celebration

Also celebrating an anniversary, this its first, is The Wave, 16925 Ventura Blvd., Encino, where free desserts come with any lunch or dinner, Maine lobster dinners are reduced to $21.95 Sundays through Tuesdays and fresh seasonal softshell crab meals are on tap for $19.95.

What a bundle of Gioia

Replacement for Di Gennaro's, 20969 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills, is Gioia (pronounced ``joya''), with Florence-native Donato Ciaraulo, previously a waiter at New York City's Letizia, as the owner-host.

Chef is Giuseppe Scalia, whose credits include the Grand Hotel in Florence.

Wok-ing the healthy way

Richard Ng, owner of the new Healthy Wok, 15030 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, explains why he calls his Chinese restaurant healthy: ``We don't use a lot of oil, vegetable oil that is, and only water to cook vegetables.''

Healthy Wok, replacing Panda City, lists many of its dishes in two sizes, with large entrees priced between $5.50 and $9 and medium entrees around $4 and $5 each. Special lunch and early-bird dinner meals are $4 to $6.

Very Artiste-ic

The updated version of Cafe des Artistes, 1534 N. McCadden Place, Hollywood, is now open. Co-owners are Silvio De Mori and chef Jean Pierre Bosc, also owners of the very successful Mimosa on Beverly Boulevard.

An introductory single-page menu of contemporary and traditional bistro fare has starters from $6 to $12.50, entrees from $13.50 to $19 and desserts from $5.25 to $10.
