No longer Truly Yours

Two ex-Truly Yours restaurant sites will soon open as Italian eateries under new, separate ownerships.The Tarzana Truly Yours, at 18588 Ventura Blvd., most recently occupied by Buky's County Line, will become Cafe 8-1/2, a second location of the Italian restaurant of the same name at 201 S. Robertson Blvd. in Beverly Hills Beverly Hills, city (1990 pop. 31,971), Los Angeles co., S Calif., completely surrounded by the city of Los Angeles; inc. 1914. The largely residential city is home to many motion-picture and television personalities. .

The original Northridge Truly Yours, at 9725 Reseda Blvd., which enjoyed a good run following its debut in the early '80s only to be replaced after the Northridge Earthquake The Northridge earthquake occurred on January 17, 1994 at 4:31 AM Pacific Standard Time in the city of Los Angeles, California. The earthquake had a "strong" moment magnitude of 6.  by the Gallery Grille, will become Alessio, a second location for the one at 6428 Platt Ave., West Hills.

Guilt-free burger, fries

The new Topz burger, hot dog and fries fast-food spot promises its Mile High hamburger possesses that minute 10 grams and its air fries are touted as having half the fat content of regular french fries.

Tasting event for charity

The first big wine and food festival fund-raiser of the year, the eighth annual L.A. Shanti
Shanti (from Sanskrit शािन्‍त śāntiḥ) can mean:

  • Ksanti, is one of the paramitas of Buddhism
 Wine Tasting and Auction, has Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff as its co-chairs. It will take place from noon to 4 p.m. March 14 at the Universal City Hilton Hotel.

The event features 25 top restaurant chefs and 25 wineries and includes such culinary luminaries as chefs Hugo Molina and Yujean Kang of their eponymous restaurants, chef Roland Gibert (72 Market Street) and chef Frank Ostini (Hitching Post).Other restaurants involved include ObaChine, Mezzomondo and The Pig.

Wineries participating include Schramsberg, Nichols and Santa Barbara Winery.Tickets ($75): (323) 962-8197.

Take it from the pros

The Los Angeles-based Dining Professionals of America (DPA DPA - Data Protection Act ) has picked its top 40 restaurants in Southern California for 1998.

Topping the list as ``Outstanding'' are Beau Rivage in Malibu, Chaya Brasserie bras·se·rie
