 DIGITRAN SYSTEMS BECOMES FIRST ECMSM
COMPANY TO JOIN PRIMARY AMEX LISTING
NEW YORK, June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Stock Exchange announced that the common stock of Digitran Systems, Inc. of Logan, Utah, which previously listed on the Emerging Company Marketplace, today began trading on the Exchange's primary list. Digitran is the first ECMsm company to join the nearly 900 companies fully qualified for Amex listing. Trading under the ticker symbol "DGT", the company's stock opened on a quote of 33/8 (bid) to 31/2 (ask).
"I'm delighted that less than three months after the launch of ECMsm, one of the charter companies has experienced sufficient growth to graduate to the Amex's primary list. This development is a tribute to their management for recognizing the advantages of listing on the ECMsm and to the Amex's auction market, which provides companies with the trading environment and services critically needed to support them during their growth periods," said James R. Jones, chairman and chief executive officer of the American Stock Exchange. "I'm anticipating that several other companies on ECMsm will also graduate to a full Exchange listing very shortly." Digitran will remain with AGS Specialist Partners as its specialist unit.
Digitran Systems develops, manufactures and markets simulator training systems for the petroleum industry and for crane operations. Primarily serving aquatic drilling needs, Digitran specializes in both port and offshore drilling simulation. Four customers, including Shell International Petroleum, account for nearly 3/4 of annual net sales.
The American Stock Exchange is the largest U.S. exchange with significant markets in both equities and derivative products. As an international institution with global system linkages, the American Stock Exchange represents the latest in trading floor technology, new product development and expansion into world markets.
