DIGIBOARD'S DIGIFAX NOW AVAILABLE WITH MOTIF GUI USER-FRIENDLY GUI ENHANCES HARDWARE/SOFTWARE FAX SOLUTION

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- DigiBoard today announced that its UNIX-based, DigiFAX hardware/software solution now features a Motif-based graphical user interface (GUI), which enhances the product by providing a user-friendly graphical interface and drag-and-drop capabilities. DigiBoard is one of the only vendors to offer a fax server product with Motif, a product of the Open Software Foundation built on the X Windows System.
DigiFAX with the Motif GUI will be demonstrated for the first time at COMDEX in booth No. H630, from Nov. 15-19.
DigiFAX is the only complete hardware/software fax solution available, consisting of software bundled with a DigiBoard FAX/1 (single- line) or FAX/2 (multiple-line) facsimile board. DigiFAX enables unlimited users to send faxes concurrently to single or multiple recipients directly from their UNIX desktop word processing, spreadsheet or other office automation application.
"Commercial users of UNIX want a powerful fax solution at their fingertips, not at a fax machine on the other side of the office," said Joe Toste, DigiBoard product manager. "We added the Motif GUI to DigiFAX because our UNIX customers are used to a strong graphical interface, which speeds up computing and makes tasks easier."
Features of DigiFAX include automatic routing of incoming faxes, prioritizing outgoing faxes, multipoint broadcasting, delayed scheduling and automatic cover sheet generation, all performed in the background so users can continue working on other tasks within an application. DigiFAX also schedules, spools transmissions, redials and notifies the user of the fax's status automatically, and provides a detailed log of activity for accounting purposes.
Unlike any other fax server software, DigiFAX provides the user's directory of potential fax recipients in a word processing ASCII flat file instead of a proprietary binary database file, which facilitates editing of the list for selective group faxing.
DigiFAX software is also available separately for use with several Class 2 serial fax modems. DigiFAX runs on SCO UNIX, SCO XENIX, SCO Open Desktop, Novell SVR4.2 UnixWare and USL SVR4.
Prices for DigiFAX are: $495 for single-line software, $795 for multi-line software; $995 for single-line software bundled with a DigiBoard FAX/1 board and $1,495 for multi-line software bundled with a two-channel DigiBoard FAX/2 board. The Motif interface is available immediately at no additional cost.
DigiBoard is the leading provider of connectivity solutions for microcomputer systems, manufacturing products for multiuser systems, LANs and WANs on the ISA, EISA, Micro Channel, SBus and NuBus platforms.
