DIA Continues to Enhance the World's Health Through Upcoming Webinar.

HORSHAM, Pa. -- The Drug Information Association (DIA) will hold a Webinar entitled Best Practices in Graphical and Tabular Safety Data Analysis and Reporting on November 30 at 12:00 p.m. EST .

In order to maintain public health and protect public safety, the pharmaceutical industry is now challenged to set up sound pharmacovigilance plans that minimize risk, monitor post-marketing safety and carefully analyze and report on pre-marketing clinical study data. This Webinar will address these issues through a series of presentations.

"In conjunction with the DIA vision of enhancing the world's health, we are pleased to offer this Webinar benefiting clinical data professions," said David Maola, executive director of the DIA. "The program will include a review of statistical analysis, reporting and data mining of clinical/safety data by way of several case studies involving clinical trial and AERS data. All vital aspects that optimize the process of drug development and lifecycle management."

Key industry professionals participating in the session include Ana Szarfman, MD, PhD, medical officer, Office of Pharmacoepidemiology & Statistical Science, Immediate Ofc, FDA; Michael O'Connell, PhD, director, Life Sciences, Insightful Corporation; and Matt Austin, senior statistician, Amgen.

Participants will learn a variety of skills at the end of this program, including the ability to recognize current statistical methods for analysis of safety data in clinical trials and the capability to explain methods for graphical analysis and reporting of safety data in post-marketing databases.
