The 24-month, $8.2 million contract is to support the DHS National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD NPPD Nebraska Public Power District NPPD Nuclear Power Plant Division NPPD National Protection & Programs Directorate (DHS) ) in business operations and planning. NPPD has two major responsibilities - Infrastructure Protection (IP) and Cyber Security and Communications (CS&C). IP identifies threats, consequences, and vulnerabilities, as well as mitigation strategies, for the nation's critical infrastructure - physical or virtual assets in areas such as energy, agriculture, and industries whose damage or destruction would have serious national consequences. CS&C has the mission of assuring the security, resiliency, and reliability of the nation's cyber and communications infrastructure, in collaboration with the public and private sectors and international partners.
