The German-owned group is closing its operation in Landor Street, Birmingham, with virtually all workers refusing transfers to the group's operation at Land Rover's HQ in Solihull.

DHL is caught up in a separate controversy with night workers based at Land Rover's Solihull base threatening to strike over new Sunday shifts being imposed from July 5.

A DHL spokesperson said: "Following a detailed review of its local operation, DHL can confirm that its site on Landor Street, Birmingham, is due to close. The closure will affect 109 DHL employees.
