DHL Seeking Employees in Areas Impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

PLANTATION, Fla. -- DHL is asking employees of its Express and Danzas Air & Ocean divisions who are living and working in the Gulf Coast areas affected by Hurricane Katrina to contact DHL as soon as possible.

DHL has a long-history in aiding countries and organizations, on local, regional and global levels, that have been affected by natural disasters. As part of this ongoing commitment, DHL is evaluating the needs of its employees in order to provide them with the assistance they require. DHL employees are urged to confirm their current condition and the extent of the damage sustained by contacting their direct supervisor or manager, or by calling the following numbers:

DHL Express employees are to contact the DHL Baton Rouge (BTR) facility at [phone].

DHL is currently rerouting employee pay checks to alternate facilities to ensure that employees from closed facilities can receive their check as scheduled. Employees are asked to contact DHL to make arrangements to have their pay checks available.

Friends and family members of DHL employees who have already made contact with their relatives are also encouraged to contact DHL with information about their relatives' current situation. DHL is requesting the following information:

DHL has established a relief fund matched by the company to which DHL staff nationwide have been contributing to support fellow employees in the stricken areas.
