DHL Expands Network Infrastructure in Vietnam to Serve Customers Better, Meet Strong Growth.

Appoints General Director of Newly Formed Joint Venture

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam -- DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, today announced four new initiatives in Vietnam as part of its US$14 million investment program, announced in November last year.

Under these initiatives, DHL will invest approximately US$6.5 million to build two service centers - one in Dong Nai, covering the Dong Nai and Binh Duong areas; and another in Ha Noi - as well as two courier depots in Da Nang and Hai Phong. The investment will also include the expansion of the vehicle fleet of DHL - VNPT Express Vietnam.

"The investments underline our commitment to continuous improvement of our products and services to enhance service to our Vietnamese customers. Ultimately we are able to better facilitate trade for customers in Vietnam with the rest of Asia and the world."

Mr. Price was speaking at the official inauguration of the DHL-VNPT Express joint venture in Ho Chi Minh City, which was attended by Dr. Hoang Tho Thai, Member of the Board, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, as well as other DHL senior executives.

At the same event, DHL-VNPT Express Ltd. also announced the appointment of Tim Baxter as General Director of the DHL-VNPT Express Joint Venture. Mr. Baxter, who was previously Deputy Country Manager in New Zealand and Chief Financial Officer for Country Operations in Singapore, will be primarily responsible for the growth and development of DHL Express in Vietnam.

Mr. Baxter noted, "Vietnam is one of DHL's fastest growing countries, recording growth of over 20 percent every year, and commanding a market share of over 40 percent. With these new investments under our joint venture, we are able to consistently provide faster transit times for our customers in Vietnam and offer expanded connectivity to DHL's global network of over 220 countries and territories."
