DHL Expands Moscow Operations.

 International, Ltd. has expanded its operations in Moscow to accommodate the international air express carrier's 100 percent growth rate in the former Soviet Union.

The expansion includes a gateway facility at Sheremeteyvo International Airport, a new DHL-dedicated flight out of Moscow, an increase of shipment value limitations and a new country headquarters office.

The gateway includes a comprehensive shipment processing facility and enables DHL to provide fast and secure customs clearance on site with DHL staff who operate as licensed customs brokers Customs Broker

. With Russian Customs officials also on site and a direct link to their computer system, DHL can provide 24-hour customs clearance.

On November 1, DHL will begin regular service of a daily flight between Moscow and Copenhagen with a stop in Helsinki. The flight, an Anatov-26, has a lift capacity of four tons and will improve the air express carrier's transit times, offering one-day service between Moscow and certain European cities.
