DHB sector group is making progress on priorities.THE DISTRICT Health Board (DHB DHB District Health Board (New Zealand) DHB Deutscher Handball Bund (German) DHB Deutschen Hausfrauen-Bundes (Darmstadt) DHB DHB Capital Group, Inc. ) Sector Group has made significant progress on many of the issues first identified as part of its work plan. Issues the group identified when it was established in June 2003 and which it is working on are: [] The Fair Pay Campaign [] Developing an NZNO NZNO New Zealand Nurses Organisation position on enrolled nurse practice in DHBs, which includes looking at both experienced and newly trained ENs. [] Identifying issues for midwives arising from the changes to Section 88; looking at issues for continuity-of-care midwives and their annual review; and developing our approach to representing midwives' issues in DHB bargaining. [] Developing a national position paper on preceptorship pre·cep·tor·ship n. A period of practical experience and training for a student, especially of medicine or nursing, that is supervised by an expert or specialist in a particular field. programmes in the sector. [] The implementation of tripartite TRIPARTITE. [] Scoping of unregulated Adj. 1. unregulated - not regulated; not subject to rule or discipline; "unregulated off-shore fishing" regulated - controlled or governed according to rule or principle or law; "well regulated industries"; "houses with regulated temperature" 2. caregivers across the country to develop more standardisation Noun 1. standardisation - the condition in which a standard has been successfully established; "standardization of nuts and bolts had saved industry millions of dollars" standardization around pay and conditions. [] An education plan for members on how to use DHB elections to address NZNO issues by helping get sympathetic board members elected. [] To integrate NZNO's safe staffing proposals into the overall campaign to improve pay and conditions of work. [] Further work on developing a national clinical career pathway (CCP (Certified Computer Professional) The award for successful completion of a comprehensive examination on computers offered by the ICCP. See ICCP and certification. . 1. (language) CCP - Concurrent Constraint Programming. 2. ) that will enable nurses to have more transportability of skill/knowledge recognition between DHB workplaces. [] A scoping exercise of senior nurses to ascertain rates of pay for particular responsibilities and to integrate this group into the overall Fair Pay Campaign. We are developing this year's workplan and we want to develop ways of reporting back to members more efficiently, so nationally members can be kept up-to-date with what is happening. Each office has a staff member on the DHB sector group who is responsible for ensuring their office has input to the two-weekly teleconferences. Some staff members have been assigned particular projects where issues require a planned approach to resolve them or progress them. Improving communication The group has also tried to improve communication among NZNO staff and to seek solutions to issues common around the country, thus preventing different areas reinventing the wheel Reinventing the wheel is a phrase that means a generally accepted technique or solution is ignored in favor of a locally invented solution. To "reinvent the wheel" is to duplicate a basic method that has long since been accepted and even taken for granted. . In subsequent reports we will provide some indepth progress on one of our projects and give updates on particular events, eg negotiations, disputes, appointments or other significant developments within the sector.
