development time and improve response time to customers at Owosso

plant

Charmilles Technologies, Inc., the leading manufacturer of electrical discharge machining Electrical discharge machining (or EDM) is a machining method primarily used for hard metals or those that would be impossible to machine with traditional techniques. One critical limitation, however, is that EDM only works with materials that are electrically conductive. , today announced that its Owosso plant generated significant financial returns from the implementation of Demand Flow(TM) Technology (DFT). By working with Denver-based JCIT to implementing DFT, Charmilles Technologies reduced the lead time to customers by 20 percent, increased inventory turns by 32 percent, decreased manufacturing cycle time by 42 percent and improved on-time machine completion to the mid 90 percent range.

On Sept. 17, JCIT and its founder, John R. Costanza, will certify Charmilles Technologies through a formal Demand Flow(TM) Technology certification event at the Owosso plant. Media are invited to attend.

Demand Flow(TM) Technology is based upon a patented set of mathematical tools develop by the John Costanza, founder, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of JCIT. DFT is a comprehensive business strategy that enables companies to manufacture products based on actual customer demand instead of forecasts, generally considered inaccurate. Developed in 1984 as a mathematically based process, DFT has helped many companies increase market share and profitability by shortening the manufacturing process and response time to customers.

"Our relationships with customers have been positively impacted by DFT and our on-time shipments are improving rapidly," said Mark Lorenez, manufacturing manager of Charmilles Technologies. "Having Demand Flow(TM) Technology will establish new business possibilities for Charmilles Technologies."

In addition to generating measurable manufacturing results, DFT provided a positive impact on the entire Owosso plant. The human resources The fancy word for "people."
