DFS Group Wins Two Retail Concessions At Changi International Airport in Singapore.


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1999--

DFS (Distributed File System) An enhancement to Windows NT/2000 and 95/98 that allows files scattered across multiple servers to be treated as a single group. With Dfs, a network administrator can build a hierarchical file system that spans the organization's LANs and  Group Limited, the world's leading retailer to the international traveler, today announced that it has won two new retail concessions at Changi International Airport in Singapore. These new concessions will further enhance DFS's longstanding retail presence at Changi, a major international gateway where the company already has extensive duty free and general merchandise operations.

DFS has been awarded a three-year concession for an 894 sq. ft. (83 sq. m.) delicatessen located next to the company's duty free liquor and tobacco shop in Departure/Transit Lounge Central in Terminal 2. The concession begins on October 1, 1999.

The new shop will feature an "Asia Food Market" reminiscent of Singapore's food streets, with ethnic shop houses and "food carts A food cart is a mobile kitchen that is set up on the street to facilitate the sale and marketing of street food to people from the local pedestrian traffic. They are often found in large cities through out the world and can be found to sell food of just about any variety. " as loose fixtures. Products will include "Merlion" brand items, including meat, seafood and dessert; snacks, chocolate and other candy; cake and cookies; teas; sauces and spices; and dried fruits.

DFS also has been awarded a seven-month concession for two shops featuring Millennium 2000 merchandise. The concession, which begins on June 15, 1999, includes a 280 sq. ft. (26 sq. m.) location in Departure/Transit Lounge West in Terminal 1 and a 258 sq. ft. (24 sq. m.) location in Departure/Transit Lounge North in Terminal 2.

In keeping with the Millennium 2000 concept, these shops will feature products that emphasize a hi-tech theme. The range of products will include souvenir items -- such as t-shirts, hats, pens, mugs, key chains, bags, high quality European chocolates, and novelty items and gadgets with the "Millennium 2000" logo -- as well as maps, clocks, and desk calendars.
