With Dfs, a network administrator can build a hierarchical file system that spans the organization's LANs and Group Limited, the world's leading retailer to the international traveler, today announced that David Smith has been named Vice President, General Merchandise Manager of the Oceania Region. Mr. Smith is currently the Head of Duty Free Business, Head of New and Developing Markets and Head of European Wholesale at Bally International. His appointment at the DFS Group is effective September 13, 1999. Mr. Smith will be a member of the Oceania Region's management committee and will report to Julian Levy, President, Oceania. "In his fifteen year tenure in the international luxury, fashion and leather goods industry, David Smith has achieved a proven track record in both revenue generation and business unit management," said Mr. Levy. In his current position with Bally International, Mr. Smith has managed three sales divisions covering seven countries and helped lead a significant organizational restructuring. He was promoted from Head of Duty Free Business to his current position in 1998. Prior to joining Bally International, Mr. Smith was Duty Free, Tourist Business Manager for Aquascutum of London where he was responsible for the global duty free business and key London accounts. Mr. Smith began his career at Bally United Kingdom in 1984.
