DFB consider disciplining Lehmann


The German Football Federation (DFB DFB

In association football, a midfielder is a player whose position of play is midway between the attacking strikers and the defenders (highlighted in blue on the diagram).
 Roda Antar Roda Antar (born 12 November, 1980 in Freetown, Sierra Leone) is a Sierra Leonean-Lebanese football midfielder, who currently plays for 1.FC Köln in the 2nd Bundesliga. He started his career at Hamburger SV, where he won league cup, before making his move to Freiburg in 2003, where  during Saturday's Bundesliga match.

"We are examining the evidence and looking at the match video of the incident," DFB media director Harald Stenger said on Sunday.

"On Monday, we will decide whether to investigate the matter further with Jens Lehmann."

Lehmann, who joined Stuttgart last summer after five years with Premier League giants Arsenal, clashed with Antar after saving a shot in the 88th minute of Stuttgart's 3-1 home defeat on Saturday.

Television pictures show the VfB goalkeeper appeared to kick the Cologne midfielder on the calf.

Although referee Thorsten Kinhoefer missed the incident the DFB disciplinary committee are considering taking the matter further.

Lehmann retired from international football in August after playing in the Euro 2008 final when Germany lost 1-0 to Spain, but has said he would like to make his international swansong against England in Berlin on November 19.
