DETROIT STUDENTS KEEP THEIR 'EYES ON THE CLASSICS' DETROIT, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Students, many of whom are studying
automotive technology, will have the chance to see cars of yesterday as well as cars of tomorrow at the 1992 "Eyes on the Classics" Auto Show at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, Mich., Sunday, June 28.
Ford Motor Company donated 100 tickets to the students, who are enrolled at Detroit's Golightly Vocational/Technical Center. In addition to viewing about 200 classic, historic and specialty vehicles, the students also will meet with event grand marshal Jackie Stewart, Formula One Racing world champion. "Eyes on the Classics" is the only major event focusing on automotive design and designers. Proceeds benefit the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO), a nonprofit organization that conducts vision- health programs. Event activities include: special displays of Packard and Jaguar, concept vehicles from ASC Inc., Chrysler Corp., Ford and General Motors Corp., and an automotive design studio. The event is open to the public 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. General admission is $10.
