DETROIT MAYOR COLEMAN A. YOUNG ISSUES STATEMENT

 DETROIT, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Mayor Coleman A. Young today issued the following statement regarding the announcement that Dan Krichbaum will be going to work at Channel 56:
 "Dan Krichbaum has done an outstanding job as director of one of the city's largest departments, the Recreation Department, since he took it over in 1979.
 "The fact that Channel 56 sought him for this important position is a compliment to this administration and a recognition of the caliber of people who serve in it.
 "While we are going to miss Dan, I understand the attractiveness of this new opportunity and wish him well in his new undertaking."
