DETROIT EDISON WINS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AWARD
DETROIT, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association of Town

Watch (NATW) is presenting Detroit Edison an award for its involvement in promoting the 1992 National Night Out crime and drug prevention event.
Detroit Edison, a local sponsor of the Aug. 4 event, was selected a winner in the category for investor-owned electric utilities. The utility was part of a local coalition which sponsored activities in Wayne County, and also took part in events held in Royal Oak, East Pointe and Washtenaw County.
Detroit Edison developed National Night Out counter-top displays and brochures explaining the use of lighting to prevent crime and make homes safer and more attractive. The displays and brochures were distributed at various police department and community organization locations.
The other local sponsors of National Night Out activities in Wayne County were Brinks Home Security, the Detroit Police Department, Little Caesars Pizza and the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.
