DETROIT EDISON RESCHEDULES 'FREEDOM DAY' FOR PHEASANTS
Detroit Edison and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources

(DNR) have rescheduled the release of more than 500 Sichuan/ringneck pheasants for Wednesday, March 4.
Detroit Edison and DNR employees will begin catching and banding the birds at 9 a.m.
The first few birds will be released on Fermi 2 property shortly after noon by Lonny Seres, a Detroit Edison nuclear security specialist, and a group of third-graders from Sodt School in Newport.
Detroit Edison has been raising pheasants at the 1,120-acre Fermi 2 power plant site since last year in an effort to increase the local pheasant population.
NOTE: If interested in covering this event, to establish security clearance, please CONTACT: Scott L. Simons, 313-237-8808, or Lorie N. Kessler, 313-237-8807, both of Detroit Edison.
