DETROIT EDISON INCREASES FUNDING TO CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPROVEMENTS
DETROIT, June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Detroit Edison (NYSE: DTE) announced today it will increase its 1992 capital budget from $375 million to $410 million, with $26 million of the added $35 million to be used to further speed improvements in customer service and system reliability.
It is the utility's latest step in a program announced last year to minimize customer power outages, reduce the number of customers affected by outages and speed service restoration.
"We now will be spending $236 million in capital expenditures alone over a three-year period to provide better customer service," said Robert J. Buckler, Detroit Edison's vice president for Divisions. "As witnessed in last week's severe storms, our customers already are benefiting from our commitment to improve service."
