Several deputies served a search warrant at the home of Dr. Xavier J. Caro and his wife, Socorro ``Cora'' Caro, said a Ventura County sheriff's spokesman, providing no details about the additional evidence taken.

Meanwhile, Socorro Caro remains hospitalized after the multiple shootings, with no change in her condition since she was upgraded Wednesday from critical to serious condition.

Deputies went to the Presilla Drive house on Thursday morning, said sheriff's Deputy Eric Nishimoto, a department spokesman.

``We served a search warrant on the house and went in to pull a few additional things,'' he said. ``It's not that unusual that something that may not have seemed significant the first time around becomes significant, so they're just going back to collect some more things from the house.''

Nishimoto said he didn't know the types or quantity of items the investigators were checking.

Investigators have named no suspect in the case, and Nishimoto said he could not forecast when an arrest might be made.

``We're sifting through a mountain of evidence.''
