DEPUTIES NAB MAN AFTER CHASE.

A car burglary suspect who ran from deputies was captured after he ran headlong into a light post, then the side of an apartment building, sheriff's officials said.

Gordon Russell Gordon Russell (August 15,1929 – January 19,1981) was a television soap-opera writer.

Born in Salem, Massachusetts, he wrote for The Nurses on ABC. He is known for his works on Dark Shadows beginning in 1967.
, 39, of Lancaster was transported to a local hospital for treatment for fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, which may have occurred during a beating he said he suffered before deputies arrived.

``It's seems to be consistent with his allegations,'' Deputy Jeff Adams Jeff Adams (born November 15, 1970 in Mississauga, Ontario) is a four-time Canadian Paralympian and a six-time world champion in wheelchair sports. At the 2000 Summer Paralympics he won five medals, a gold in the 800 m and 1500 m, a silver in the 400 m and a bronze  said.

Deputies went to an apartment complex in the 44000 block of Beech Street about 1:30 a.m. Thursday after receiving reports of two men fighting. They found no fight, but saw a Volkswagen with an open door and a man under its dashboard.

The man ran, hit a light pole and fell to the ground.

``He was looking back to see where the deputies were and ran into the light post,'' Adams said.

, the man got up and ran, but slammed into the side of the apartment complex. He tried to get up again, but the deputies caught him.

After being detained, Russell told deputies that he was attempting to burglarize bur·glar·ize

 the car that he and a friend had stolen and brought to the complex in an effort to get money for drugs, officials said.

Russell told deputies that he and his friend were ``jumped on'' and assaulted prior to the deputies' arrival. Officials searched the area, but did not locate any suspects or the friend.
