A suspect was arrested Tuesday minutes after a home-invasion robbery in which a man pointed a gun at the head of a woman as she begged him not to shoot, deputies said.

Deputies said the woman tried to hide in a bathroom when two men broke down the door to her 11th Street East apartment about 1:50 a.m., officials said.

The intruders took the money inside the woman's purse, then searched through kitchen cabinets before leaving, he said.

The woman was not harmed, deputies said.

After a team of deputies arrived at the woman's apartment and broadcast a description of the intruders, another team of deputies spotted a possible suspect driving west on Avenue R from Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling , less than a mile away.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and arrested Jay Miller, 34, of Palmdale, on suspicion of robbery. He was being held Tuesday at the Lancaster sheriff's station in lieu of Instead of; in place of; in substitution of. It does not mean in addition to.  $50,000 bail.
