DEPUTIES ARREST MAN FOR CHILD SUPPORT.

A man who failed to pay more than $84,000 in back child support and absconded from probation probation, method by which the punishment of a convicted offender is conditionally suspended. The offender must remain in the community and under the supervision of a probation officer, who is usually a court-appointed official.  has been arrested, authorities announced.

Sergio Fletes, 29, of Fillmore is being held without bail following his arrest by deputies and investigators with the Ventura County District Attorney's CERTIFICATE, ATTORNEY'S, Practice, English law. By statute 37 Geo. III., c. 90, s. 26, 28, attorneys are required to deliver to the commissioners of stamp duties, a paper or note in writing, containing the name and usual place of residence of such person, and thereupon, on paying certain  Office.

Deputy District Attorney Robert Velasquez said Friday his office plans to seek a state prison term for Fletes, who fled probation in 1993 following a conviction on false imprisonment false imprisonment, complete restraint upon a person's liberty of movement without legal justification. Actual physical contact is not necessary; a show of authority or a threat of force is sufficient. The person falsely imprisoned may sue the offender for damages.  charges.

Authorities recently received a tip that Fletes was working at his family's ranch ranch, large farm devoted chiefly to raising and breeding cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. The cattle ranch was introduced from Latin America to Texas and the plains of the W United States and Canada.  in Fillmore. District attorney's investigators conducted surveillance of the location before obtaining a search warrant that led to Fletes' arrest.

Angela Segura, 25, of Fillmore was also arrested on suspicion of harboring Fletes, who was found hiding on the property.

``It is a priority for the district attorney,'' Velasquez said. ``We're going to seek anybody who fails to be responsible for their child support, no matter where they're at. Regardless of whether they leave the county or the state, we're going to do our best to track them down and bring them back''
