DEPARTMENT HEADS FORETELL DISASTROUS BUDGET CUTS.

VENTURA - Officials painted a bleak picture Thursday of potholed pot·hole

One by one, department heads told county supervisors how their share of budget cuts will translate into layoffs and reduced services.

At least 500 county workers are expected to lose their jobs July 1. District Attorney Greg Totten told supervisors a budget cut of $3.2 million in the coming fiscal year will result in fewer cases being prosecuted.
