Best actress in a comedy series nominees are Erika Alexander, Kim Coles and Queen Latifah, all for ``Living Single,'' Phylicia Rashad for ``Cosby'' and Tisha Campbell for ``Martin.''

Outstanding drama series nominees are ``ER,'' ``Homicide: Life on the Street,'' ``New York Undercover,'' ``NYPD NYPD New York City Police Department (since 1845; New York City, NY, USA)

For best rap artist, A Tribe Called Quest A Tribe Called Quest is a critically acclaimed and highly-influential American hip-hop group, formed in 1988. The group is composed of rapper/producer Q-Tip (Kamal Fareed), rapper Phife Dawg (Malik Taylor), and DJ/producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad.  and Bones Thugs-N-Harmony will compete with Dr. Dre, LL Cool J and the Fugees.

Best album nods went to ``Emancipation'' by the Artist Formerly Known as Prince; Maxwell's ``Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite''; Curtis Mayfield's ``New World Order''; Whitney Houston for ``The Preacher's Wife'' soundtrack; and the Fugees for ``The Score.''
