Danaher, Vice President and Group General Manager for Hewlett-Packard Company's Medical Products Group located in Andover, Mass., has been appointed to serve as a member of the Board of Directors with her initial term expiring at the conclusion of the 2000 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.

This action enlarged the membership of the Board from nine to ten Directors.

Ms. Danaher has progressed rapidly and achieved a great deal in a short time with one of the world's most respected companies. She joined HP as a Sales Development Representative with the Ultrasound Imaging Group in 1984. Two years later she was named Business Development Manager for the Imaging Systems Division.

In 1989 she transferred to the company's Medical Products Group as a Health Care Policy Specialist and she was appointed Marketing Manager for the Imaging Systems Division in 1990.

In this role, she led the worldwide marketing department, including product marketing, technical support marketing, learning products, marketing communications Marketing communications (or marcom) are messages and related media used to communicate with a market. In 1995 Ms. Danaher's leadership skills were again recognized when she assumed her present position as Vice President and Group General Manager for HP's Medical Products Group.

This group is a leading provider of clinical devices, device-linked information solutions and services for the healthcare industry, including patient monitoring devices, diagnostic cardiology, ultrasound imaging, innovative services and support and hospital supplies.

With over $1.3 billion in annual revenue and more than 5,400 employees, they are the market leader in patient monitoring with manufacturing plants in Andover, as well as in Germany and China.
