DENTSPLY International Inc. to relocate Cavitron Division.


YORK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 1996--DENTSPLY International Inc. (Nasdaq:XRAY) Tuesday announced it will relocate the operations of its Cavitron Division from their current, leased facilities in Long Island City, N.Y., to a purpose-built structure near its headquarters in York, Pa.

The move is expected to be completed towards the close of the first quarter of 1997 and will bring approximately 130 new jobs to the York area.

The move will also enable all Cavitron employees to work together under one roof, thus ensuring greater efficiency in the new, lower- cost environment.

Dentistry is mainly concerned with tooth decay, disease of the supporting structures, such as the gums, and faulty positioning of the teeth. . Their dental office equipment products are recognized as the market leader and include ultrasonic scalers used for cleaning and polishing teeth and a number of precision-manufactured scaler inserts.

Lacking sufficient space at the existing York complex, the company will construct a new building of approximately 55,000 square feet elsewhere in the York area. This fully-integrated structure will house the division's entire business, including manufacturing, sales and marketing, customer service, quality, research and development, distribution and product service.
