DENTSPLY International Inc. acquires SPAD Laboratories.


YORK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3, 1997--DENTSPLY International Inc. (Nasdaq:XRAY) announced that on Jan. 30, 1997 it concluded a transaction for the purchase of 100% of the outstanding Capital Stock of Laboratoire SPAD, S.A. (SPAD Laboratories), a subsidiary of GROUPE MONOT, S.A. for FF198,000,000 in a cash transaction valued at approximately $35 million.

This transaction is expected to add approximately $18 million to DENTSPLY's annual sales.
