DENTSPLY International Inc. Increases Dividend and Authorizes Year 2001 Stock Buyback Program.

YORK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 2000

DENTSPLY International Inc. (Nasdaq:XRAY) today announced that its Board of Directors increased the annual dividend rate by $ .025 per share, declaring a quarterly cash dividend of $.06875 per share of common stock, an indicated annual rate of $.275 per share. The dividend is payable January 10, 2001 to holders of record on December 28, 2000.

The Company also announced that the Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to 1,000,000 shares of DENTSPLY common stock on the open market or in negotiated transactions in calendar year 2001. The Company has approximately 51.6 million shares of common stock outstanding.
