DENTSPLY International Acquires Vereingte Dentalwerke -- VDW --.YORK, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 1999--DENTSPLY International Inc. (Nasdaq-XRAY) Monday announced that it recently concluded the acquisition of Vereingte Dentalwerke GmbH (VDW vdW Van Der Waals (atomic force; molecular modeling) VDW Virtual Data Warehouse VDW Verband Deutscher Wirtschaftsberater (society of German economic advisors) VDW Very Dear Wife (IRC) ) and related companies in a transaction valued at approximately $57.1MM which includes a cash payment of $51.7MM. This acquisition is expected to add approximately $22 million to DENTSPLY's annual sales. Headquartered in Munich, Germany, VDW was a privately held dental products manufacturer focusing on the production of endodontic Endodontic Pertaining to the inside structures of the tooth, including the dental pulp and tooth root, and the periapical tissue surrounding the root.
