The local foundation runs a Children's Dental Services Program that involves bringing student dentists Dentists can refer to one of the following:
  • Practitioners of dentistry
  • The Dentists, a British band active in the 1980s and 1990s
 to the area to check young patients' teeth and provide basic care, including fillings and extractions.

The program was founded by Mary Caravalho, wife of Santa Clarita's former city manager, George Caravalho, and targets children age 2 to 16.

It is funded in part by federal community development block grants.

In June, 100 children were seen by dentists in Santa Clarita. Those young patients were screened at their schools and recommended for the program.
