DEMS CLUB MAKES ENDORSEMENTS PUBLIC.


PALMDALE Palmdale, city (1990 pop. 68,842), Los Angeles co., S Calif., in the irrigated Antelope Valley; a growing residential suburb of Los Angeles near Little Rock Creek where it forms Lake Palmdale Reservoir, inc. 1962. Established from two communities that were settled in the 1870s and 80s, Palmdale took its current name in 1899. Formerly a farm community, it prospered with the completion of the Los Angeles aquaduct in 1914. - Democratic Club of the High Desert endorsed Los Angeles County deputy assessor Desmond Kester for Palmdale mayor and Palmdale Water District projects coordinator Claudette Roberts for City Council.

The club also endorsed Palmdale business owners Sandy Corrales and Robert ``Bo'' Bynum for the Palmdale School District board, teacher Calvin Robinson for the Antelope Valley Union High School District board and teacher Marty Meeden for the Westside Union School District board.

The endorsed candidates were interviewed by the club's candidate recruitment and endorsement committee chairman Robert Alvarado and made presentations at a club membership meeting in August.
