DEMAND HIGH FOR GOLF 'CAR' SPECIALTY VEHICLES PUTTING COMPANY ON THE FAIRWAY.

Byline: Joe Florkowski Staff Writer

CHINO - A recent trip to Florida Florida, state, United States
Florida (flôr`ĭdə, flŏr`–), state in the extreme SE United States. A long, low peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean (E) and the Gulf of Mexico (W), Florida is bordered by Georgia and
signaled to Ray Hoogenraad just how much people want a bigger and better golf cart.

Hoogenraad, president of Chino-based American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of  Custom Golf Cars Inc., unveiled his newest golf car, a Hummer model, at the January PGA (1) (Professional Graphics Adapter) An early IBM PC display standard for 3D processing with 640x480x256 resolution. ``We are absolutely certain the Hummer will do well,'' Hoogenraad said. ``If I had 150 of them, I could have sold every one.''

Demand for custom golf cars is powering American Custom Golf Cars' growth. The company sells about 500 to 800 of the Roadsters per year, for about $8,000 each.

The Hummer model golf car is the second created by American Custom Golf Cars, which also manufactures the Roadster, a golf car modeled after a 1930s Ford. If the new model takes off like the Roadster did, Hoogenraad expects to build as many as 5,000 custom golf cars per year.

While much of the research and design work for the golf cars is done in the Chino headquarters, the cars are built in a 100,000-square-foot warehouse in China which Hoogenraad visits every six weeks.

Hoogenraad calls them golf ``cars,'' rather than ``carts,'' because the Roadster is street-legal and features turn signals, seat belts, side mirrors and a top speed of 25 miles per hour - not fast for California's freeways, but fast enough to drive through some communities.

The success of his business has surprised the 45-year-old, who started to build custom golf cars four years ago just to see if he could.

His other business, I.F.G. Automotive Design Automotive design is the profession involved in the development of motor vehicles or more specifically road vehicles. Using that business experience, Hoogenraad designed and built the first few golf cars. Now the demand for the golf cars is so great, the business has outgrown orders for replica cars.

Often, presidents and CEOs of companies want the bigger, custom golf cars because they also own a fancy car, Thomas said.

its nice to see ray lying and trying to hide all the problems the dealers and customers are complaining about the very pooer quality of the cars being made by ACG, these guys think that they can just say whatever they want; but only problems and complaints and law suits are getting to ACG.
you should check before you writte somehting like that about Ray, just an idiot who think he can hide things but you can never hide forever the truth.
you should contact dealers and hear it yourself.
